1. Introduction

MC Connected LLC ("we", "us", "our") operates RepSpec ("the Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our websites (including repspec.ai, app.repspec.ai, and branded firm subdomains) and when you access the Service through connectors such as the Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector for Anthropic's Claude.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Contact & account information: Name, email address, firm/company name, role, territory, and portal settings
  • Project information: Application types, project descriptions, uploaded drawings/schedules, fixture and control selections, and specifications
  • Conversations & content: The prompts, chats, and documents you submit to our tools, and the outputs generated for you
  • Payment information: Subscription and billing details, processed by our payment processor (we do not store full card numbers)
  • Communications: Messages sent through our contact forms or email

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: Pages visited, tools run, credits consumed, and interaction patterns
  • Device information: Browser type, operating system, and approximate location inferred from IP (for rate limiting and localization)
  • Cookies: Authentication and session cookies to keep you signed in

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Generate project specifications, bills of materials, take-offs, and documentation
  • Provide, operate, secure, and improve the Service
  • Process subscriptions, meter usage/credits, and prevent abuse
  • Route projects and leads to the appropriate representative firm where you have connected with one
  • Communicate with you about your projects, account, and inquiries
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:

  • Connected representative firms. If you connect with a manufacturer representative firm (for example, by choosing a rep to work with or accepting a rep's connection request), or if you use a rep firm's branded portal, that rep firm can see the project data and spec conversations associated with that connection so they can support your specification. This sharing happens only with your action to connect or your use of that firm's portal. You can request to disconnect at any time.
  • Manufacturers. We may provide manufacturers with aggregated or de-identified usage and specification analytics about how their products are being specified. On a manufacturer's own branded portal, conversations conducted within that portal may be visible to that manufacturer.
  • Service providers. Third parties that help us operate the Service, under contract and only as needed: Vercel (hosting & file storage), Convex and Supabase (database & authentication), Stripe (payment processing), Resend (email delivery), and Firecrawl (web content verification).
  • AI providers. Project and conversation data may be processed by AI services to generate outputs — primarily Anthropic (Claude), and OpenAI for image/vision features. Some AI processing is performed on our own servers using self-hosted models and is not sent to a third party. We limit the personal contact information sent to external AI providers to what is necessary.
  • Legal requirements. When required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

5. Conversations & Content Storage

To provide project history, portal analytics, and support, we store the conversations, uploads, and outputs associated with your account and, where applicable, with the rep firm or manufacturer portal you use. Do not submit information you are not authorized to share, and avoid including sensitive personal information in project inputs.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on servers in the United States using industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored on our servers. While we take reasonable precautions, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, maintain project history, meet legal and accounting obligations, and resolve disputes. You may request deletion of your data at any time, subject to records we are required to retain.

8. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Disconnect from a representative firm you previously connected with
  • Opt out of marketing communications
  • Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell personal information)

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies — primarily authentication and session cookies to keep you signed in and to secure the Service. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date, and material changes may be communicated to you directly.
