By accessing or using RepSpec ("the Service"), operated by MC Connected LLC ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or firm, you represent that you are authorized to bind that entity to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
RepSpec is an AI-assisted specification platform for architectural lighting and related building systems. The Service generates bills of materials, fixture and control schedules, wiring narratives, cross-references, take-offs, and project documentation based on user-provided parameters and our product database. Outputs are generated in part by artificial intelligence and are preliminary planning estimates — see Sections 6 and 7.
The Service is offered to different types of users, including specifiers/designers, manufacturer representative firms ("rep firms"), and manufacturers. You must be at least 18 years old and use the Service for lawful, business purposes. You agree to provide accurate registration information, keep your credentials secure, and are responsible for all activity under your account. We may approve, decline, suspend, or revoke access to any account or portal at our discretion.
You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current paid term. Except where required by law, fees and credits are non-refundable, and unused credits are forfeited on cancellation or expiration. Metered overage already incurred remains payable.
All specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams, and circuit calculations generated by RepSpec are based on the following default assumptions unless otherwise specified:
These outputs are preliminary planning aids only. They do not constitute engineered drawings, stamped documents, or licensed electrical designs.
It is the sole responsibility of the user and their licensed electrical engineer or contractor to verify all specifications, ensure compliance with applicable codes (NEC, local amendments, Title 24, and other jurisdictional requirements), and confirm suitability for the specific installation environment. RepSpec does not guarantee accuracy for non-standard voltage systems (e.g., 277V, 240V, international standards) unless explicitly configured.
The Service does not provide professional engineering, electrical design, or architectural advice. Outputs are tools to assist qualified professionals and must not be used as a substitute for professional judgment. You agree not to rely solely on RepSpec outputs for life-safety, code-compliance, or final construction decisions. We are not liable for any decisions made based on information provided by the Service.
Product data, specifications, pricing, availability, and lead times within RepSpec are sourced from manufacturers, distributors, and other third parties and may be incomplete, out of date, or inaccurate. Such information is provided for convenience only and is not a quote or an offer to sell. Final part numbers, pricing, availability, and compatibility must be confirmed with the manufacturer or authorized representative before purchase or installation.
The Service allows a specifier/designer to connect with a manufacturer representative firm (for example, by selecting a rep to work with or accepting a rep's connection request). If you connect with a rep firm, or use a rep firm's branded portal, you consent to that rep firm having visibility into the project data and spec conversations associated with that connection, so the rep can assist with and support your specification. You may request to disconnect at any time by contacting us or using in-product controls where available; disconnection applies going forward and does not retroactively withdraw information already shared. Rep firms agree to use such information only to support the connected specifier and in compliance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
You agree that you will not, and will not permit any third party to:
We may throttle, suspend, or terminate access for suspected violations. Project documents you legitimately create for your own projects remain yours to use.
Product data, specifications, and pricing sourced from manufacturers remain the property of their respective owners. The Service itself — including its design, code, branding, curated product database, enriched attributes, matching logic, and constraint system — is the proprietary property of MC Connected LLC and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Project documents you create using the Service for your own projects are yours. You grant us a limited license to process your inputs to operate and improve the Service, consistent with our Privacy Policy.
The Service may be accessed through third-party platforms and connectors, including the Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector for Anthropic's Claude. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for third-party platforms. AI-generated outputs may contain errors and must be verified as described in Sections 6–8.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MC Connected LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100).
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or currency of product data or AI-generated output.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MC Connected LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your content or inputs, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms, non-payment, suspected misuse, or to comply with law. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases; Sections that by their nature should survive (including 4–8 and 10–15) survive termination.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New Jersey for any dispute not subject to other agreed dispute resolution.
